New to Foreshore 2011 - The Vinnies Beauty Bar

    New to Foreshore

The Vinnies Beauty Bar

Kicks Entertainment is excited to announce the addition of the very first Vinnies Beauty Bar at Foreshore 2011.

After participating in the CEO Sleep Out earlier this year and learning more about the charity, Kicks Entertainment chose Vinnies as the Foreshore charity for 2011.

What is the Vinnies Beauty Bar?

The Vinnies Beauty Bar will be a miniature beauty parlor, where people can pop by and get their make up touched up, hair re-straightened and panda eyes wiped away all by professional make up artists and hairdressers volunteering their time and skills. All of these fantastic services are in return for a cold coin donation.

Punters who drop by the Vinnies Beauty Bar will also be able purchase a hand picked selection vintage accessories as well as receive on-trend tips from Canberra fashion stylists Jenny Kozlow.

The Vinnies Beauty Bar will also be home to an array of great fancy dress costumes, and for a gold coin donation, the festivalgoers can dress up in the eccentric outfits and get a take home photo to capture the moment.

The Stylist

Reknown Canberra stylist, Jenny Kozlow, will be on hand at the Vinnies Beauty Bar to give you fashion tips and tricks! She will also have some great vintage accessories, hand picked from the Vinnies stores to sell and ad to your festival kit!

The Make-Up & Hair Artists

Partner of Bentley's Hair of Canberra, Sarah McPhillips will be in the Vinnies Beauty Bar all day at Foreshore. For a gold coin donation, Sarah and her professional team can spruce you up with quick make up fixes and hair tricks to bring you back to looking your absolute best. From lip gloss to a speedy braid, The Vinnies Beauty Bar will be the place to drop in and get fabulous at Foreshore.

Vinnies & Kicks Entertainment

Kicks Entertainment is donating the infrastructure at Foreshore for the Vinnies Beauty Bar to keep all money collected on the day going straight into the charities much needed services.

Throughout the day Foreshore will be encouraging people to donate to Vinnies. There will be volunteers situated at the gates of Foreshore as people walk into the event, collecting donations from ticket holders.

You’ll also find Vinnies volunteers collecting donations at the VIP entry where guests will be held in a friendly hostage at the gate, until a donation has been made towards the Foreshore charity.

There will be a short movie shown inside the event on the big screens, which will showcase to the Foreshore audience what Vinnies does in the community. It’s a chance to remind people that not everyone is lucky enough to be able to afford a ticket to Foreshore and how their small donation can go a long way.

Where will the money raised for Vinnies go?

The money raised at Foreshore from the Vinnies Beauty Bar and donations will go straight into supporting the services that support our community.

Hang on, doesn't Vinnies just sell clothes?

It is a common misconception that Vinnies solely provides second-hand clothing. However, the truth is that they provide other programs and services locally that are aimed at helping anyone in Canberra and Queanbeyan who needs help to get their life back on track.

Vinnies support the Canberra and Queanbeyan community through such services as the Emergency Call Centre, Family Services and the Samaritan House. These services offered support to over 12,000 people in the past year.
